Penny

Penny was one of the most reliable lesson horses in the riding program at Sewanee.  I can't remember her ever missing a day of work due to lameness. She was kind to people and incredibly patient with her less experienced riders.  Penny was in charge of herd management and led with a quiet strength. On those rare occasions that one of the horses forgot that she was in charge or attempted to stage a coup, Penny could be seen kicking in reverse across the pasture with a level of athleticism and speed that was impressive.
